Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Wednesday's contest between Toronto and the Baltimore Orioles was suspended due to heavy rain in the top of the sixth inning with the Blue Jays ahead by the score of 2-1.
The teams will resume play on Thursday at 12:05 before playing the finale of the four-game series.
Marco Scutaro and Lyle Overbay each knocked in a run for Toronto, while starter A.J. Burnett gave up one run on six hits and struck out seven in five innings of work.
Aubrey Huff tripled and scored the lone run for Baltimore. Jeremy Guthrie, who is unbeaten in his last six outings (3-0), allowed two runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Alex Rios singled to begin the sixth, swiped second and came around to score on a Overbay single for a 2-1 lead. Overbay moved to third on a groundout by Rod Barajas and, after Matt Stairs grounded out sharply to third, Guthrie threw one pitch to Scott Rolen before the rain came.
The Blue Jays grabbed a 1-0 lead in the third. After stroking a lead-off single, Adam Lind stole second, advanced to third on a John McDonald base hit and later scored on a Scutaro groundout.
Baltimore tied the game in the fourth when Huff ripped a lead-off triple to deep left and Melvin Mora followed with an infield single. Game Notes
